The conference dinner will be held at Schankwirtschaft im Augarten, located inside Vienna’s oldest baroque park, the Augarten. We will enjoy our dinner in a secluded, cozy outdoor dining area surrounded by chestnut trees. The Augarten is a testimony to Vienna’s eventful history. If you have a few moments to spare, we suggest a stroll through the park. Walk along the shady avenues and admire the flower gardens, Augarten Castle (home to one of Europe’s oldest porcelain manufactories, Augarten Porzellanmanufaktur) and Palais Augarten (home of the famous Vienna Boys’ Choir). You will also notice two prominent concrete towers, testimonials to a dark period in Vienna’s history: These anti-aircraft defense towers, known as flak towers, were built during the Third Reich and are Vienna’s largest World War II relics.

By foot:
From the conference venue, go to the Strudlhofstiege and walk through the 9th district to the Donaukanal (danube canal). Cross via the Siemens Nixdorf Steg and continue straight ahead towards the Augarten park.
By public transport
- Bus 5B – Obere Augartenstraße (3 min walk)
- Tram 31 - Gaußplatz (5 min walk)
- Tram 5 or 33 – Klosterneuburger Straße, Wallensteinstraße (9 min walk)
- Metro/U-Bahn U4 – Friedensbrücke (12 min walk)
