Kirsten Sandvig is a Norwegian biochemist. She earned her PhD from the University of Oslo in 1979 and subsequently joined the Institute for Cancer Research at the Norwegian Radium Hospital as a researcher. Since 1996, she has also served as an adjunct professor at the Institute for Molecular Biosciences at the University of Oslo. Sandvig has received several prestigious awards, including the Anders Jahre Medical Prize for young researchers in 1989 and the Fridtjof Nansen Prize for Outstanding Research in 2014. She is a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, the American Academy of Microbiology, and Academia Europaea. Additionally, she has been a board member and deputy chair of the Norwegian Radium Hospital and Institute for Cancer Research.
