Monther Abu-Remaileh is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and Genetics at Stanford University. He leads a research group focused on understanding lysosome biology and metabolism, particularly how cells adapt to metabolic stress and environmental changes. His lab employs multidisciplinary approaches, including metabolomics, proteomics, and functional genomics, to investigate lysosomal functions and their roles in diseases such as cancer, neurodegeneration, and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Abu-Remaileh earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed postdoctoral training at the Whitehead Institute/MIT. His work has been recognized with several honors, including the NIH Director's New Innovator Award in 2021 and being named a Pew-Stewart Scholar in 2022
