Giovanni D'Angelo obtained his master's in Medical Biotechnology from the University Federico II' of Naples, School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Medical Biotechnology, Naples, Italy. From 1998-2003 Ph.D. he attended the Open University Ph.D. program at the Department of Cell Biology and Oncology, Consorzio' Mario Negri' Sud, Santa Maria Imbaro, Italy, and was then from 2004-2008 Postdoctoral fellow from 2008-2009. In 2009, he joined the Telethon Institute for Genetics and Medicine, Naples, Italy, where he was a postdoc until 2011. He is now a tenure track professor at IBI-SV - Interfaculty Institute of Bioengineering at the EPFL in Lausanne.
